The year September 1752 was 11 days slower than the normal year(365 Days). 11 days were skipped from September 4th to September 13th.(Please read the Gregorian Calendar reform from WikiPedia)

The scientists then would have to count the number of days in September to be 19 and the number of days in 1752 to be 355 before calculating the annual statistics.
